In Mykolaiv, SBU officers detained an FSB agent who was collecting intelligence on the Ukrainian Marine Corps disguised as a courier.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the agency, the attacker was spying on the Ukrainian military defending the city, with a particular interest in the locations of marines and logistics warehouses with ammunition.
The agent turned out to be a local resident who had previously served a sentence for murder, robbery, and assault. He came to the attention of the Russian secret service while he was still in prison, and after his release, he was recruited by an FSB officer via messenger, offering money for cooperation.
To cover up his espionage activities, the agent took a job as a courier for a local delivery service. He moved around the city on a scooter, taking photos and videos of military facilities, which he sent to his FSB supervisor via messenger.
The SBU exposed his activities in time and detained him on the spot when he was conducting reconnaissance near one of the potential targets. During the search, the SBU seized a phone with evidence of his communication with Russian curators.
The offender is now suspected of high treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Meanwhile, in Odesa, the security services detained a man suspected of adjusting a double strike with Iskander-M missiles on March 15. Many local residents, rescuers, a paramedic, the former vice mayor of Odesa and the commander of the Tsunami battalion were killed.
In addition, the security service detained an informant who was adjusting the air strikes of the aggressor country in Mykolaiv region. He was connected to a well-known FSB agent who gave instructions on intelligence gathering.
Also, a known traitor to Ukraine, Serhiy Lebedev, known by the pseudonym "Shaggy," was sentenced to 15 years in prison. According to the investigation, the agent was performing FSB tasks in several areas.
