Investigation of four former employees of the penitentiary service from Kherson region who collaborated with the enemy is completed
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, indictments were sent to court against four former employees of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine on the fact of collaboration, three of whom are also charged with high treason and aiding the aggressor state (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 7 of Article 111-1, Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in 2022, the defendants agreed to cooperate with the enemy and were employed by the illegally created "Department of the Penitentiary Service in Kherson Region" and its structural units: "Holoprystan Correctional Colony No. 7 and Northern Correctional Colony No. 90. They took administrative positions in illegal law enforcement agencies, contributed to the establishment and functioning of pseudo-institutions, and executed criminal orders of representatives of the occupation authorities.
The special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation in Melitopol.
Earlier it was reported that two members of an illegal armed group will be tried in Kherson region for persecuting patriots of Ukraine. The investigation established that in 2022 the defendants joined an illegal armed group similar to the Russian FSB, created in the temporarily occupied territory - the State Security Service of the Kherson Region.
It was also reported that the SBU had served three other residents of Kherson region, one of whom was a village council member, with suspicion of collaboration with the occupiers.
