On September 16, Antonivka, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Oleksandrivka, Novooleksandrivka, Ukrainka, Shevchenkivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, and the city of Kherson came under enemy fire and air strikes by the Russian occupation army in Kherson region. For its part, during a nighttime drone attack, the Air Defense Forces destroyed four Shahed-131/136s over the territory of Kherson region.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military District, Oleksandr Prokudin.

The official said in a statement that during the shelling of the liberated part of the region, Russian invaders hit a cultural institution and residential areas of the region's settlements, including six private houses. The occupiers also damaged a warehouse and private cars.

Prokudin added that two civilians were killed, including one child, and three others were injured as a result of Russian aggression in the right-bank part of Kherson region. Thus, in the village of Posad Pokrovsky, an unidentified explosive device exploded in a barn, causing life-threatening injuries to a 14-year-old boy. Also, a 45-year-old man sustained fatal injuries as a result of the detonation of an unidentified explosive device in Odradokamyanka.

Earlier it was reported that on September 15, during the shelling of the liberated part of the region, Russian invaders hit a critical infrastructure facility; residential areas of the region's settlements, including two high-rise buildings and six private houses. The occupiers also damaged an outbuilding, agricultural machinery, and private cars.

It was also reported that a private residential building caught fire in one of the neighborhoods due to shelling. During the work of fire and rescue units, there was a constant threat of repeated attacks, including from enemy UAVs. Despite all the difficulties, the fire was extinguished.
