A former engineer of a Ukrainian mobile operator will be tried in Kherson region for aiding the aggressor state
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was sent to court against a former engineer of a Ukrainian mobile operator on the fact of aiding the aggressor state (Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in August 2022, the accused began to cooperate with the occupiers. Having access to the base stations of one of the Ukrainian mobile operators located in Kherson and the region, he established contact with representatives of the aggressor country, disconnected Ukrainian networks from communication and connected to the channels of the Russian mobile operator. The man dismantled the equipment at the base stations and handed it over to representatives of the Russian operator. After reprogramming, he reinstalled it. Thus, he facilitated the distribution of telecommunication services of a hostile country in the occupied territory.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region. Operational support was provided by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that based on the SBU materials, a collaborator who took a leading position in the occupation "government" of Kherson region was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison.
It was also said that the Kherson educator was going to teach Ukrainian children according to Russian standards. According to the investigation, in the summer of 2022, the man voluntarily headed School No. 41 of Kherson, created by the occupation authorities on the basis of a seized local educational institution. The suspect implemented Russian education standards, including teaching subjects exclusively in Russian. He held meetings of pedagogical staff, where he stated that subjects were taught according to Russian standards, and organized the access control.
