Russian kamikaze drones have once again violated the no-fly zone around the South Ukrainian NPP in Mykolaiv region.

According to Energoatom, on the night of October 6-7, two enemy UAVs were spotted near the industrial area of the South Ukrainian NPP. Their flight distance from nuclear facilities was less than 10 km.

The company emphasized that the number of recorded flights of Russian drones has recently increased significantly, which may indicate that Russia is preparing for attacks on Ukrainian nuclear infrastructure.

Energoatom transmits information about each such case to the relevant state authorities, which, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, send notes to the International Atomic Energy Agency and inform national and international organizations.

"The aggressor deliberately carries out such actions, fully realizing the possible consequences. This is a manifestation of nuclear terrorism and an attempt to intimidate the world with the threat of a radiation disaster," said Energoatom Chairman Petro Kotin.

In September, experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recorded three cases of drone flights near the South Ukrainian NPP during a week. The drones flew at night at a distance of 1.5 to 6 kilometers from the plant. No damage or casualties were reported at the plant.

The agency's team was forced to seek shelter twice. One of these incidents occurred late in the evening of September 18, when the sound of drones and gunfire was heard.

In the evening of September 18 and on the night of September 19, air defense forces and means were actively engaged in combat operations in Mykolaiv region. 18 drones were destroyed.
