Commander of the National Guard awarded servicemen of Mykolaiv and Kherson regiments

The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine honored the soldiers of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regiments. He also awarded those soldiers who are currently defending the South Ukrainian NPP.
This was reported by the press service of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleksandr Pivnenko, paid a working visit to the units performing tasks in the southern direction. He visited the guardsmen at their duty stations in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, inspected their positions and familiarized himself with the operational situation on the ground.
This area requires special attention due to the proximity to the enemy, stabilization measures in the liberated territories and protection of critical infrastructure.
On the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, the NGU Commander presented awards to the military of the 19th Mykolaiv and 34th Kherson regiments, recognizing their courage, professionalism and contribution to the defense of the state.
During the trip , Oleksandr Pivnenko also visited the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant, where he met with Vyacheslav Stoyanov, General Director of the branch of the plant. They discussed issues related to improving the security of the facility and also presented awards to the military who distinguished themselves in battles against Russian troops and now continue to defend this important facility.
Recently, the Mykolaiv Marine Brigade was solemnly awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky, for their courage and bravery on the battlefield. Noting their role in the defense of strategic borders, he presented the Marines with honorary badges symbolizing their contribution to strengthening Ukraine's defense.
In July, Ihor Skybyuk, Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, met with Mykolaiv paratroopers in Donbas and presented them with state and departmental awards.
The other day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded outstanding people with the National Legend of Ukraine award. Among them are Mykolaiv athlete Olga Harlan, boxer Oleksandr Usyk from Crimea, and US philanthropist Howard Buffett.
