Cases of two residents of Kherson region who went to help the occupiers are sent to court

Two residents of the region who contributed to the functioning of the occupation penal system in the Kherson region will be tried.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, indictments were sent to court against two residents of the region on the fact of voluntarily holding positions in an illegal law enforcement agency (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that one of the defendants voluntarily took a position in the illegally created Dariivka Correctional Colony in 2022, and later became the so-called "duty assistant to the head of the Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 of the Kherson Oblast Penitentiary Service." Another took the position of a so-called "junior inspector of the 2nd category" in the same institution. In their pseudo-positions, the men supervised the detainees in the isolation facility and ensured that they complied with the regime. The men were also responsible for controlling access control, security and inspection of the administrative building. By their actions, they contributed to the establishment of the occupation regime and the functioning of the penal system of the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied territory.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that the investigation against four former employees of the penitentiary service from Kherson region who collaborated with the enemy was completed. The investigation found that in 2022, the accused agreed to cooperate with the enemy and were employed by the illegally created "Department of the Penitentiary Service in Kherson Region" and its structural units: "Holoprystan Correctional Colony No. 7 and Northern Correctional Colony No. 90.
