A local resident who produced anti-Ukrainian content justifying the occupation of Kherson region will be tried
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was sent to court against a resident of the region on the fact of aiding the aggressor state, committed by prior conspiracy with a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the accused ran an advertising agency that continued to operate during the occupation of Kherson. In May 2022, he organized the production of anti-Ukrainian content, which was placed on billboards in the regional center and the region, on the facades of educational institutions, institutions and public places. The content included glorification of Russia and justification of Kherson region's "accession" to Russia. The defendant also ensured the calculation and payment of salaries to employees in rubles.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that based on the SBU materials, a propagandist from Kherson, who provided media support in favor of Russia, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in absentia. The investigation proved that after the seizure of the regional center, the man supported the armed aggression of Russia. For this, the occupation authorities appointed him "editor" of one of the local propaganda publications. It was established that in his publications he "promoted" media images of the occupation leadership of the region to create the illusion of its legitimacy and positive image. He promoted hostile narratives in the information space, praising the invaders and justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The convict also took part in pro-Russian rallies, where he called on Kherson residents to support the "new" government, assuring them that "there will be no more Ukraine."
