Former head of the State Ecological Inspectorate in Crimea to be tried for treason
This was reported by the press service of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The post says that the prosecutor's office of the autonomy sent an indictment to the court against the former head of the State Environmental Inspectorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. His actions are qualified as high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years in prison.
It has been established that since 2012, the accused held the position of the Head of the State Environmental Inspectorate in the AR of Crimea - the Chief State Inspector for Environmental Protection of the AR of Crimea. However, after the occupation of the peninsula, the citizen of Ukraine betrayed the oath of a civil servant and went over to the enemy. In particular, in June 2015, he was appointed to the position of "Deputy Head of the Environmental Supervision Department of the South Crimean Region - Head of the Environmental Supervision Department of Yalta - Senior State Inspector of the Republic of Crimea", where he has been working until now. In this position, the accused acts as a representative of the authorities of the aggressor state and ensures the functioning of its occupation authorities on the peninsula, thus assisting representatives of a foreign state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that the occupation head of the Crimean Forensic Laboratory would be tried for treason. The investigation established that since 2001, the accused worked as the head of the Sevastopol branch of the Kharkiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, and since 2011 she headed the Crimean Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. However, after the occupation of the peninsula in 2014, the Ukrainian citizen betrayed her oath as a civil servant and went over to the enemy, taking the position of "Head of the Crimean Forensic Laboratory of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation."
It was also reported that three commanders of an illegal armed group from Crimea face prison terms.
