In the temporarily occupied Crimea, Russian security forces are once again trying to hand Crimean Tatar activists "warnings about the inadmissibility of violating the law"
This was reported by the Chairman of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov on his Facebook page.
According to him, this is being done on the eve of the Russian elections in the annexed Crimea, said the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov.
"For several days in a row in the occupied Crimea, the punitive bodies of the Russian barbarians have been trying to hand over so-called "warnings about the inadmissibility of violating the law" to Crimean Tatar activists. There have been repeated cases when such "warnings" were issued to deceased people," Chubarov wrote.
According to the head of the Mejlis, by massive rounds of the homes of Crimean Tatar activists and handing them "warnings" on the eve of the elections, Russian security forces are trying to intimidate Crimean Tatars who categorically oppose "another lawlessness of the Russian occupation authorities."
On September 6-8, the occupying Russian authorities are holding elections to the Russian parliament of Crimea and local councils in annexed Crimea. Ukraine and the democratic international community consider the Russian elections in Crimea to be illegal and in violation of Ukrainian and international law.
Earlier, it was reported that the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people initiated a project to create a memorial to the victims of the Crimean Tatar genocide. Work is currently underway on it, and the location is being discussed. We want everyone in Ukrainian society to realize the depth of the genocidal catastrophe of the last century, and for those who see this monument to realize the Crimean Tatar tragedy as part of Ukrainian history and unite for the future of Ukraine.
It was also mentioned that six Crimean Tatars will remain in pre-trial detention until the end of November.
