The number of victims of the Russian missile strike in Odesa on November 18 has increased to 11 people - one of the victims died in hospital.
This was reported by Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
"Doctors fought desperately for his life, but his injuries were very severe," the mayor said.
A missile fired by Russians on the afternoon of November 18 hit a residential building. The death toll from the November 18 rocket attack on Odesa reached 10 people by the morning of November 20, including seven police officers, a medic, and two local residents.
Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov declared November 19 a day of mourning for those killed in the Russian missile attack on the city on November 18. According to the command of the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy attacked Odesa with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, which was shot down by air defense. The downed enemy missile landed in the residential sector of the city's Prymorsky district. In addition, at 11:45 a.m., an enemy Orlan-10 UAV, which was allegedly a reconnaissance aircraft, was shot down by air defense on its approach to Odesa.
In addition to the death of seven police officers, 27 police officers were also wounded. Another 55 people were injured, including five children aged 7 to 11.
Meanwhile, the electricity distribution operator DTEK Odesa Power Grids has introduced schedules to stabilize blackouts in Odesa after three days of emergency and blackouts. Earlier, the head of the Odesa State Administration, Oleh Kiper, commenting on the situation with the electricity supply in the region, said that Odesa region had asked Transnistria for help in providing electricity, but they refused.
By that time, Odesa residents had been suffering from a power shortage for three days caused by damage to the power grid as a result of Russian shelling on the night of November 16-17. On the evening of November 18, residents of Dalnytska Street blocked the street in protest against the lack of electricity and feedback from DTEK Odesa Power Grids.
On November 17, the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations of the Odesa Regional State Administration declared October 18 and 19 as days off for schools and kindergartens in Odesa.
