An elderly couple from Odradokamianka, which is constantly shelled by Russians, expressed a desire to evacuate to a safer place. An evacuation team of officers from the Kakhovka District Police Department went to the specified address in an armored car.
According to the Kherson regional police, the coastal territory of the de-occupied Beryslav region is now under heavy fire from the aggressor country's military every day. And often, the only hope for the locals to be saved is the police.
"Despite the constant risks to their own lives, police units in Kherson region continue to serve in dangerous areas, evacuate the wounded under the threat of Russian attacks and provide assistance to all who need it," the police said.
So, in addition to the 78-year-old man and his 73-year-old wife, the police also evacuated a 44-year-old local resident from the village. The day before, late in the evening, the man did not notice an anti-personnel mine in the dark and stepped on it. As a result, he sustained an injury to his foot.
The policemen wasted no time in helping the couple and the wounded man get into the vehicle and took them to a safe place. The injured man was handed over to medical workers, and the couple is now waiting for their relatives to move to a quieter and safer temporary residence.
"If you decide to leave the settlements that suffer from constant Russian shelling, please contact the territorial police units, the special line "102", local authorities, volunteers," the police remind.
Information on evacuation can also be obtained by calling the hotline of the Kherson Regional Military Administration: 0800-33-09-51.
Since the liberation of the right-bank part of the Kherson region, more than 48,000 people have been evacuated from dangerous areas, including morethan 6,600 children and 470 people with reduced mobility.
