Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent to court an indictment against two residents of the Odesa region on the fact of organizing illegal transportation of persons across the state border using forged documents.
According to the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, investigators found that the defendants helped a 39-year-old man subject to military service who was subject to mobilization and had no legal grounds to cross the border to leave the country.
The offenders developed a scheme to create false birth documents for non-existent children in order to provide fictitious paternity to a man who already had one child. First, one of the women ordered the production of fake medical certificates confirming the alleged birth of two children in 2019 and 2021, indicating that her accomplice was their mother and the man was their father.
Subsequently, the women submitted these documents to the Department of State Registration of Civil Status Acts, where the children were registered with the relevant data, on the basis of which the man managed to cross the state border several times.
The organizers received a $1,000 reward for their services. A doctor who is believed to be involved in the illegal transaction was also served a notice of suspicion.
In October, the organizer of the illegal transportation of men across the state border of Ukraine through fictitious marriages of conscripts with women with disabilities was detained in Odesa. The offender found a client among Odesa residents who was liable for military service and offered him to enter into a fictitious marriage with a woman with a disability. For the 29-year-old groom, his wife's illness was an opportunity to travel with her to another country without hindrance.
