Ukraine continues to impose sanctions against traitors in Crimea, which is an important tool in the struggle to restore justice and ensure respect for human rights.
This was reported by the press service of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The report notes that one of the key activities of the Mission is the sanctions policy aimed at counteracting those who violate the rights of Ukrainian citizens and facilitate the illegal actions of the occupiers. Each of these steps is based on the hard work of many government agencies and structures, and we express our gratitude to everyone who is involved in this important work.
Thus, according to the new decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, enacted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, the list of persons subject to sanctions includes 11 so-called judges, in respect of whom the Mission submitted relevant proposals. Among them are those directly involved in the politically motivated persecution of Ukrainian citizens, including representatives of the indigenous people of Ukraine - the Crimean Tatars. They made decisions in the framework of illegal trials aimed at suppressing any resistance to the occupation regime.
Thus, according to the Mission's statistics, the occupiers illegally imprisoned 218 people, including 132 Crimean Tatars. In addition, 979 cases were recorded when the so-called "courts" and other occupation structures received materials under the article on "discrediting the Russian army".
The press service added that strengthening sanctions pressure is an urgent need. These measures destroy the mechanisms of repression in the temporarily occupied territories and limit the ability of the occupation administration to continue persecution.
