1000 days of full-scale war in Kherson region: figures that cannot be forgotten

The Kherson region continues to overcome the consequences of the brutal fighting caused by Russia's full-scale invasion, which has been going on for 1,000 days.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police of the Kherson region.
During this time, 22,495 buildings in the region have been damaged or completely destroyed. Enemy shelling has affected 3,044 civilians, and 575 people have been tragically killed.
Police evacuated 3876 people from the dangerous areas.
Explosive ordnance experts examined more than 52 thousand square kilometers of territory. In the course of the work, they destroyed about 32,000 explosive items that posed a serious threat to the local population.
In the course of performing their duties, 227 police officers were injured and 18 were killed while saving civilians.
The war of the Russian aggressor against Ukraine has been going on for 10 years, of which 1000 days have been spent on a full-scale invasion. The press service emphasized that these days have become a difficult test for the Kherson region, but the steadfastness and joint struggle help bring Ukraine's victory closer.

In September, the number of cultural institutions affected by hostile shelling in Ukraine increased. Southern regions are among the most affected. In the Kherson region, 43% of the cultural fund was damaged.
As for cultural heritage sites, as of July 2024, 150 sites in the region were damaged by hostile aggression.
During the first 9 months of 2024, 862 criminal proceedings related to Russia 's armed aggression against Ukraine and crimes committed against children were investigated under the procedural guidance of the Kherson regional prosecutor's office.
As of September, one third of the population lived on the right bank of the Kherson region. Before the full-scale invasion, about 490 thousand people lived on the right bank of the Kherson region. Now, as of September 1, 2024, this figure is about 168 thousand people, but compared to 2023, it is a decrease of about one-third.
Recently, representatives of a number of states, politicians and diplomats have condemned Russia's recent massive attack on Ukraine. Commenting on the Russian attack on Ukrainian territory, US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink reminded that a full-scale invasion poses a threat to the whole of Europe.
