Svitolina from Odesa received the Heart Award

The first racket of Ukraine, Elina Svitolina from Odesa, won the Heart Award for her performance in the final of the Billie Jean King Cup 2025.
This was reported by Sport.ua.
The Heart Award is presented to a tennis player who has represented her country with dignity, shown exceptional courage on the court and demonstrated exceptional dedication to the team during the CBDC matches.
In mid-September, Svitolina played in the final tournament of the 2025 BWC in Shenzhen as part of the Ukrainian national team. The Blue and Yellows beat Spain 2-0, and Elina defeated Paula Badosa in three sets (5-7, 6-2, 7-5). In the semifinals, the Ukrainians lost to Italy 1-2, and Svitolina failed to cope with Jasmine Paolini (6-3, 4-6, 4-6).
Odesa-based Elina Svitolina is a Ukrainian tennis player, the third ranked player in the WTA singles rankings in 2017, 2018, and 2019, bronze medalist of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (2021), and champion of the final WTA Finals tournament in 2018.
Svitolina won the Heart Award for the second time in 2025. In April, she became the winner of the award following the results of the Unofficial World Tennis Championships. Elina will receive $10,000, which she will donate to her charity foundation to help the next generation of young tennis players.
Vitolina became the third Ukrainian woman to receive this award since its inception in 2009. Previously, it was won by Angelina Kalinina (2023) and Kateryna Bondarenko (2016).
Earlier, at the WTA250 tournament in Rouen, France ,Elina Svitolina, the 18th world number one, was ranked as the top seed. This is due to the fact that most of her opponents played at the tournament in Stuttgart.
In May, Elina Svitolina announced that she would not play at the WTA 500 clay court tournament in Strasbourg, France.
