Mykolaiv NIKO-Basket Secures Third Place in Major League Victory

Mykolaiv Basketball Club won its home game of the Major League, securing third place in the standings.
This was reported by the press service of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.
Mykolaiv's NIKO-Basket won a convincing victory over Vinnytsia in the home match of the Major League, ending the game with a score of 84:57. The team took control in the second quarter and did not allow the opponents to cut the score.
Vitaliy Volodin (19 points, 13 rebounds), Bogdan Lukyan (17 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists) and Maksym Hryshchuk (17 points) were the most productive players for the winners.
On February 16, Niko Basket will play against SELFMADE FREEDOM from Kyiv. Currently, the Mykolaiv club is third in the Major League standings.

Meanwhile, in the national ranking of sports institutions for 2024, two Mykolaiv schools - the Mykolaiv Cycling School and the Mykolaiv Fencing School - entered the top ten, ranking 4th and 9th, respectively. In addition, the Sports School of Athletics was ranked 34th among 119 sports schools in the country.
Recently, Olympic champion Olga Harlan visited her native fencing school in Mykolaiv, where she met with the coaches who helped her become a sports star, talked to young fencers and held an autograph session for them.
The city also decided to increase bonuses for athletes, develop mass physical education, and create a sports rehabilitation program for people with special needs.
In 2025, more than UAH 189 million was allocated for the development of sports in Mykolaiv. These funds will be used to build shelters in sports facilities, reconstruct facilities, create a modern sports town, organize competitions and promote a healthy lifestyle among the city's residents.
