Mykolaiv athlete Sadurska sets new world record again

Kateryna Sadurska, a freediver from Mykolaiv, has set her ninth world record in the most difficult type of freediving, constant weight diving without fins (CNF).
The athlete announced this on her social media page.
Her new record of 88 meters was the third set under the auspices of CMAS. At the same time, she set a series of intermediate records for 82, 84 and 86 meters in AIDA-regulated competitions, demonstrating not only depth but also stability of results in various international events.
- I have been dreaming about this dive since last year, and I am so happy that it happened. 88 meters - without fins, one breath, 3 minutes 30 seconds, my 9th world record in this discipline, and it's hard to believe, but it's 14 meters deeper than my first record, which I set in 2023," said Kateryna Sadurska.

Earlier, Mykolaiv planned almost UAH 995 million for the development of sports in the city for 2026-2028. The program envisages the development of children's and youth sports schools, training of reserve sports, and renovation of the city's sports facilities.
The relevant decision was considered at a meeting of the Mykolaiv City Council's Standing Committee on Human Rights, Children, Family, Legality, and Publicity.
Mykolaiv City Council has allocated almost UAH 995 million forthe Physical Culture and Sports program for 2026-2028. The funds are to be raised from the city budget and other sources, including private entrepreneurs and investors.
The program envisages a set of measures to develop sports in the city, including involving children and youth in sports schools, creating conditions for the development of reserve sports and training athletes to join the national teams of Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to updating the forms and methods of work of sports institutions and gradually increasing their own revenues from their economic and other activities.
