A wrestler from Kherson region is among the five strongest at the World Championships

Emir Khan Musayev, an athlete from Kherson region, became one of the five strongest wrestlers at the World Beach Wrestling Championships held in Katerini, Greece.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional State Administration.
More than 20 countries took part in the competition. Emir Musayev, a pupil of the Kherson Regional Council's wrestling school, competed in the under-20 category and in the 70 kg weight category.
Having taken fifth place, he became one of the strongest wrestlers in the world in his category, the Kherson Regional Military Administration confirmed.
Mykolaiv para-swimmer Anna Gontar won a bronze medal at the World Championships currently taking place in Singapore. The competition started on September 21 and will last until September 27.
On the first day of the competition, the athlete showed a result in the 100-meter backstroke. The Ukrainian team also includes three other athletes from Mykolaiv region: Serhii Palamarchuk, Dmytro Vasylenko and Angelina Maltseva. In total, 580 paraswimmers from 75 countries are taking part in the competition.
As a reminder, Anna is a bronze medalist at the Paralympic Games in Japan, a multiple champion and medalist at the World and European Championships. She is a native of Kherson, but represents Mykolaiv region in the competition.
Earlier, Mykolaiv parafencer Dmytro Serezhenko won a bronze medal at the World Wheelchair Fencing Championships.
The world wheelchair fencing competition in the South Korean city of Iksan lasted from September 2 to 7 and brought together athletes from 28 countries. On the very first day of the competition, Seryozhenko won a bronze medal in the men's sabre. The Ukrainian team includes three other representatives of Mykolaiv region: Oleh Naumenko, Tetiana Pozniak and Oleksii Zakusylov.
