President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the Muslims of Ukraine and the world on Eid al-Adha, making special mention of the occupied Crimea and Crimean political prisoners.
In his address, the Head of State wished peace, blessings and harmony to every family celebrating Eid al-Adha.
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine continues to fight for the safety of its citizens and supports international efforts to protect life in different regions of the world.
The President paid special attention to Crimea, recalling that it was the occupation of the peninsula in 2014 that began Russian aggression against Ukraine.
"We also remember our Ukrainian Crimea, from which the Russian war against Ukraine began in 2014," Zelenskyy said.
The President also thanked all international partners who support Ukraine, condemn the Russian occupation of Crimea, and help return Ukrainians from Russian captivity.
In addition, in his address, Zelensky recalled the Crimean political prisoners illegally held in captivity by Russia and called on the world not to forget about people deprived of their liberty due to the occupation.
In the end, the President greeted Muslims with traditional words in the Crimean Tatar language: "Eid al-Adha!" and "Eid Mubarak!".
Recently, the leader of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, called on residents of occupied Crimea to temporarily move away from Russian military facilities on the peninsula.
Earlier, Zelensky reacted to the Kremlin's behind-the-scenes attempts to get the United States to recognize the annexation of Crimea.
As a reminder, following reports of a series of explosions and a fire in the temporarily occupied Dzhankoy, the railway station was closed, trains were detoured, and passengers were transported by bus.
Also, on May 23 and on the night of May 24, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted a series of strikes on military and logistics facilities of the Russian occupiers, in particular in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the targets was an ammunition depot near the village of Mizhhirya in the occupied Crimea. In addition, the Ukrainian military hit a number of Russian army supply facilities.
