Mykolaiv officially presented the Youth Strategy of the region, which will define the key areas of support and realization of the potential of young people in the region. The document was developed with the active support of international partners, including the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

The initiative was also co-authored by the public organization "Tenth of April", which allowed to attract expert experience to create an effective mechanism for cooperation between youth and government. The project was implemented with the financial support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany through the KfW Development Bank.

The presentation was attended by Heorhii Reshetilov, First Deputy Head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Mykhailo Nikolaiev, Head of the Department of Youth and Sports, and UNICEF program specialists Volodymyr Tsololo and Tetiana Sigayeva. During the event, Georgiy Reshetilov emphasized that the development of the region is based on trust and partnership, where young people are the driving force for change. Particular attention was paid to the issues of budget financing of youth initiatives and the importance of direct communication with communities for making effective management decisions.

The strategy is a response to the acute challenges of wartime, including the destruction of infrastructure and limited opportunities for self-realization in certain parts of the region. The document is based on the real needs of young people, collected during strategic sessions, focus groups and sociological surveys. This action plan not only complies with the law, but also reflects the common vision of young people for the recovery and sustainable development of Mykolaiv region.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv has expanded access to preferential housing mortgages for young citizens. People under 40 can now get a mortgage loan. Deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council have amended the program to provide housing for young families and single citizens, allowing citizens under the age of 40 to receive a preferential mortgage.

According toYevhen Polyakov, Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning , the war has brought new challenges to the city, including a large number of people leaving. Therefore, one of the priorities is to create conditions that allow young people to stay in Mykolaiv and build their future in their hometown.
