Water supply has been restricted in Crimea's resort towns and villages

On September 20, in occupied Crimea, there were interruptions in the cold water supply in Yalta, Sudak, and a number of resort towns. The causes are said to be network failures and problems with the power supply.

This was reported by Krym.Realii, citing Russian utility companies.

In Sudak and the surrounding towns, the water supply is unstable or limited. The problems, in particular, affect Ordzhonikidze, Novyi Svit, Shchebetovka, Koktebel, Kurortnoye, as well as the villages of Podgornoye, Pivdenne, Nanikove, Krasnokamyanka, Morskoe, Gromivka, Mezhrichchya, Soniachna Dolyna, Dachne, Vesele, and Bogatovka. The occupying utility “Voda Krymu” attributes the situation to power grid failures.

In Yalta, water service was scheduled to be shut off from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. due to emergency repair work on the networks. The local water utility also reported similar restrictions in certain areas of the city over the past few days.

Water supply problems in Crimea regularly occur due to power outages. The operation of water utilities’ pumping equipment depends on a stable power supply, so failures in the power grids directly affect the water supply. 

Earlier, Sudak experienced anunstableand limited water supply due to problems with the power grid.
