Vasyl Kirienok, who devoted more than 28 years of his life to serving the law and protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, has passed away.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Vasyl Kirienok began his career in law enforcement as an assistant prosecutor in the Bashtanka district. Over the years, he rose through the ranks from prosecutor and senior prosecutor to senior positions in the regional office. In particular, in different years, he headed the prosecutor's offices of Novobuzkyi district and Central district of Mykolaiv.

The staff of the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office expressed official condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, noting his contribution to the development of the legal system of the region and his many years of service to the protection of the rule of law.

Earlier, social media spread information about the death of a woman who had previously been injured in an accident involving the mayor of Voznesensk , Yevhen Velychko. However, this has now been denied by the Prosecutor's Office of the Kropyvnytskyi region.

This post appeared in one of the city's Facebook groups, where the author Roman Polishchuk stated that the victim had now died in intensive care and that the fact of her death was being hushed up.MikVisti 's editorial team asked the press service of the prosecutor's office for comment , where they said that this information was not true.

The spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, Yana Shass , said that the woman was alive and in the hospital. Yevhen Velychko himself also confirmed that the information about the victim's death was fake. According to the mayor, after his release from the pre-trial detention center, he learned that the victims were being treated in Mykolaiv, and then moved to a Kyiv hospital. The victim's husband was put in a cast and did not require additional surgical interventions.
