On March 12, Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily suspended train traffic on the Mykolaiv-Vantazhny - Bila Krynytsia route in Kherson region.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
In addition, due to the increased intensity of Russian shelling of the railway infrastructure, the train service on the Mykolaiv-Vantazhny-Apostolove route was suspended on March 6, 2026.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that a new air threat response regulation is being introduced on other sections. In case of detection of dangerous targets, trains will be stopped at the nearest station, after which railroad workers will organize the evacuation of passengers to safe places.
Train traffic will resume only after the air raid warning is canceled and the security situation is confirmed.
According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the resumption of flights or possible further changes in the schedule will be announced later.
It is noted that the Russian military is intensifying its attacks on the railroad infrastructure, including rolling stock. In this regard, Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing additional security measures for passengers and employees.
A special traffic regime is being introduced in certain areas, especially in the frontline regions and where there is increased activity of the Russian military. As a result, there may be unscheduled train stops and schedule delays, in particular on routes from Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
Earlier, Intent wrote that due to the security situation, rail service on the Mykolaiv-Kherson section was temporarily replaced by bus transportation.
A similar situation is observed in Zaporizhzhia, where the connection with Dnipro is organized mainly with the involvement of bus carriers. Passengers are advised to follow the instructions of train crews, watch for announcements at train stations and activate push notifications in the Ukrzaliznytsia app to receive up-to-date information.
