The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that, following heavy fire, Russian troops were forced to abandon some of their positions on the Kinburn Spit.
This was announced by the Regional Command of the Territorial Defense Forces “South” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the “Odesa” Operational-Tactical Group.
According to military sources, following strikes by Ukrainian defense forces, the occupiers began evacuating their surviving personnel and are abandoning their defensive lines.
As proof, a video has been released showing a blue-and-yellow flag raised on the Kinburn Spit.
“As a result of heavy fire, the Southern Defense Forces forced the occupiers to retreat from their positions; the evacuation of surviving personnel is underway, and the occupiers are abandoning their defensive lines. We will not stop!” the statement reads.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military has not reported the complete liberation of the Kinburn Spit or the establishment of control over the territory. No information has yet been released regarding the deployment of Ukrainian units on the spit.
Earlier, the Ukrainian military struck a road bridge spanning the North Crimean Canal near the village of Stavy in the Kherson region. A road bridge near Voinka, which the occupiers used to move troops and equipment between the temporarily occupied territories in southern Ukraine, was also struck.
In addition, Ukrainian drones have significantlydisrupted the logistics of Russian troops inthe south. Over the course of two weeks of strikes, freight traffic along the main land route to the temporarily occupied Crimea decreased by 71%, and the Russian command was forced to restrict the transport of military cargo.
Furthermore, Ukrainian defenders carried out a successful strike on enemy positions near the occupied town of Pokrovka. The target was a UAV command post belonging to a Russian airborne assault regiment.
The Kinburn Spit remains one of the key areas in southern Ukraine. It is located between the Dnipro-Bug Estuary and the Black Sea and is of significant military importance for controlling the waterway and the approaches to the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
