In occupied Crimea, the maximum prices for firewood have nearly doubled since October 10. A cubic meter of hardwood will cost 4,385 rubles for pickup, and up to 6,800 rubles with delivery.
This was reportedby Krym.Realii, citing an order from the occupying State Committee on Prices and Tariffs of Crimea.
According to the document, the new price caps for firewood for the occupying Crimean Forestry and Hunting Administration were set for the end of 2026, as well as for the period from 2027 to 2029.
For self-pickup, a cubic meter of firewood will cost:
- Hardwoods — 4,385 rubles instead of 2,108 rubles.
- Softwoods — 4,000 rubles instead of 1,898.5 rubles.
- Coniferous species — 3,947.5 rubles instead of 2,390.5 rubles.
If the seller handles loading and delivery, the maximum price will be 6,801.5 rubles per cubic meter.
All prices listed include VAT. They will remain in effect until September 30, 2027. The order does not specify the reasons for the price increase.
Following the easing of U.S. sanctions on Russian diesel fuel, many gas stations in annexed Crimea have run out of diesel fuel. This occurred due to a sharp reduction in supplies from Russia.
Previously, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued General License No. 135. This allowed for transactions involving diesel fuel of Russian origin, and accordingly, the Kremlin lifted its own restrictions on the export of petroleum products.
