The Mykolaiv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support commented on a traffic accident that occurred on the evening of June 22 on Bohoyavlensky Avenue in Mykolaiv, involving a servicemember from the Korabelny District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.
The Recruitment and Social Support Center reported that the servicemember was off duty. According to preliminary information, he may have been under the influence of alcohol and collided with vehicles that were already at the scene of another traffic accident.

According to police, at approximately 9:40 p.m. near building No. 55-B on Bogoyavlensky Avenue, a traffic accident occurred involving a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 31-year-old woman and an Opel Mokka driven by a 44-year-old woman. No one was injured in this accident, but the vehicles sustained mechanical damage.
However, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a 43-year-old driver of a BMW X6 crashed into the stationary Volkswagen Passat and Opel Mokka, which were still at the scene of the previous accident.
As a result of the collision, three people sustained injuries of varying severity—two men aged 23 and 31, as well as a 28-year-old woman. All of the injured were hospitalized.
Police noted that the BMW driver showed clear signs of intoxication and refused to undergo a medical examination. He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the accident under Part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of traffic safety rules by a person under the influence of alcohol, resulting in serious bodily injury. The penalty under this article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment with the revocation of the right to operate motor vehicles.
The Mykolaiv Regional Recruitment and Selection Center stated that it adheres to a zero-tolerance policy toward any unlawful actions by its personnel and has launched an internal investigation. The center also pledged to fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities in establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
