Soil subsidence noticed on Blazhka descent

Odesa residents noticed soil sinkholes on Blazhka Descent, which reopened traffic in July 2025, and before that, they saved the descent from sliding due to a landslide.
According to the authors of the Zootop YouTube channel, the dips under the freshly laid tiles are currently found on the territory of the newly built residential complex, while the areas repaired at the expense of the city have not been affected.
"It's on the territory of the residential complex, not the city, and in principle, the road was not affected. There is a large collector under the entire descent, and not just one. It dates back to the century before last," the author of the video noted.
Experts also do not rule out the possibility that the tiles sagged due to water washing sand out from under them, but the channel's authors believe that this problem will recur.
After the landslide that occurred in early 2024, in October of that year, the Capital Construction Department of the Odesa City Council held a tender for the construction of a new drainage system for the descent. The only bidder was Rostdorstroy LLC. The final beneficiaries of Rostdorstroy LLC are currently Yuriy Shumacher, a deputy of the Odesa City Council and a representative of Hennadiy Trukhanov's Trust the Deeds party, and businessman Yevhen Konovalov. The amount of money involved was UAH 37 million 834.2 thousand.
Prior to that, in 2019, the Road Department of the Odesa City Council entered into an agreement with Rostdorstroy Limited Liability Company. The company won the tender in a fierce competition with Mykolaivbudtsentr LLC, Onur Construction International LLC, and its subsidiary Lider.
Rostdorstroy LLC won the tender, offering to carry out repairs for UAH 69 million 264 thousand 827. From September 17, 2019, to December 31, 2020, the company completed the repairs and received UAH 68 million 698 thousand 139 for them. However, in December 2020, the company was allocated another UAH 3 million 512 thousand 356 for additional work under the negotiation procedure, i.e. without an auction.
