Security measures to be strengthened for Easter in Mykolaiv region: military will be involved

Law enforcement officers in Mykolaiv region will be on high alert during the Easter holidays.
According to the Mykolaiv regional police, additional forces will be deployed to ensure order due to martial law. Military personnel and representatives of volunteer groups will be on duty alongside law enforcement.
The main attention will be paid to:
- churches and religious buildings
- places of mass gathering of people
- adjacent territories and highways
The number of foot and car patrols will be increased, and the crews will be brought as close as possible to the places of worship.
Also:
- additional investigative teams will be deployed
- reserves of special forces, explosives experts and dog handlers have been formed
- random checks of citizens in public places are possible.
Law enforcement officials emphasize that such measures are necessary to prevent provocations and sabotage.
It is also emphasized that the curfew on Easter night will not be canceled and will be in effect from 00:00 to 05:00.
Residents of the region are urged to
- not to ignore air raid alarms
- not to take large bags to churches
- Limit the time spent at worship services
- follow the rules of martial law
In case of an alarm, you should immediately go to a shelter.
The police ask citizens to be careful and report any suspicious objects or persons.
As a reminder, restrictions have been imposed on Easter in the Kherson community: cemeteries will be closed.
As Intent previously reported, Russian troops massively attacked Kherson and Mykolaiv regions with drones, artillery and aircraft. Civilians were killed and wounded, including a child, and residential buildings and critical infrastructure were damaged.
On April 8 , 4 people died and 21 others were injured, including a child, as a result of Russian aggression. One person was evacuated from the frontline communities.
