Due to the extreme heat wave in Ukraine, air conditioners on public transportation in Mykolaiv may experience intermittent service. The municipal utility explained the reasons and asked passengers to follow some simple rules.
This was reported by the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivelektrotrans.”
The company noted that high temperatures place significant strain on the transportation infrastructure. Due to the heat, rails, overhead contact lines, electrical equipment, and air conditioning systems overheat, which is why such problems arise even in cities with modern public transportation.
The company emphasized that all rolling stock undergoes a daily technical inspection before heading out on routes. If malfunctions are detected, the vehicles are promptly repaired or replaced with backup units.
The company also assured the public that it responds to all reports of malfunctioning air conditioners. At the same time, during periods of extremely high temperatures, even properly functioning cooling systems may operate at the limits of their technical capabilities, so it is impossible to completely rule out potential breakdowns.
Passengers are asked not to open the windows while the air conditioning is running. This helps keep the air cool and reduces the load on the cooling system.
If the air conditioning is not working, the Mykolaivelektrotrans Municipal Enterprise asks that you report this to the hotline at 095 084 38 04.
When reporting the issue, please provide the route number, the vehicle’s serial number, and the approximate time of the trip. This will allow technicians to locate and fix the problem more quickly.
Earlier, a new trolleybus route, No. 14, began operating in Mykolaiv, connecting Kazarskogo Street with the old train station.
After the route’s first week of operation, the city evaluated its performance.
