In Odesa, the heating season is scheduled to begin in about one and a half to two weeks, but if the weather worsens, heat may be supplied to homes earlier.
This was reported by the Odesa City Council.
The dates were announced at a meeting of the city’s task force on preparations for the heating season. The meeting was led by Ivan Donchenko, deputy head of the Odesa City Military Administration, and Oleksandr Filatov, first deputy mayor of Odesa.
“Based on current forecasts, the heating season will likely begin around November 9, unless there are adjustments to the temperature schedule,” Filatov said.
According to the municipal utility “Odesa City Heat Supply,” preparatory work is nearing completion. Given the weather forecast, boiler rooms are scheduled to begin operations in approximately one and a half to two weeks.
At the same time, city services are ready to provide heat earlier if the weather worsens or a corresponding decision is made.
Round-the-clock hotlines are being set up in the districts to handle inquiries from Odessa residents.

Another prerequisite for the start of the heating season is ensuring the city’s gas supply. Members of the Odessa City Council supported a draft resolution to enter into an agreement with NAK “Naftogaz of Ukraine,” which is intended to guarantee the necessary volumes of natural gas.
City authorities also urged Odessa residents to pay off their heating debts.
Earlier, at a meeting of the Odessa City Council’s standing committee on housing and utilities, November 10 was cited as the tentative start date for the heating season.
