Odesa region will be one of the first regions to test the eCheck system for passenger cars.
This was announced by Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, during the Transport Forum in Odesa.
According to the minister, the government is focusing on maintaining the continuous operation of logistics while modernizing the transportation system. A significant portion of cargo flows has been reoriented to western routes, checkpoints are being modernized, and digital services are being introduced. An important role in this is played by the extension of the "transport visa-free regime" with the European Union, which the Ministry of Development is actively working on extending after 2027.
Oleksiy Kuleba also emphasized the investment potential of Odesa region as one of the key logistics centers of Ukraine and the Black Sea region. A new architecture of maritime, port, and multimodal logistics is being formed in the region, and the state is preparing a portfolio of public-private partnership projects. Among them is the concession of the first and container terminals of the port of Chornomorsk, where the competitive dialogue stage is already underway.
The launch of eCheck for cars is scheduled for June this year and will be available to Ukrainians and foreigners. The queue for crossing the border by car will be available through the Diia app, the eCheck website and mobile application.
Since April 21, it has been possible to book border crossing times for buses in the eCherge system at two border crossing points - on the border with Poland and on the border with Moldova. The Ministry of Development has also launched the Transport Data Hub, a new platform for analyzing data in the field of transport, mobility and logistics.
