Odesa region ranked fifth in the number of accidents due to poor roads

Inadequate road conditions led to 23 road accidents in Odesa region in 2025, and the region ranked fifth in Ukraine by this indicator.
This was reported by analysts of the Opendatabot platform, citing data from the Patrol Police Department of Ukraine.
Eight such accidents occurred in Mykolaiv region, and analysts have no data on Kherson region. Instead, Lviv region became the leader in the country in terms of the number of accidents caused by bad roads, with 73 such accidents last year. Kyiv is in second place with 63 road accidents, Ternopil region is third with 29 accidents, and Kyiv region is fourth with 27.
In total, 332 accidents due to improper road conditions were registered by the police in Ukraine last year. According to analysts, this is a third less than in 2024, when a record number of 475 accidents were recorded since the start of the full-scale campaign. For comparison, the previous record was set in 2021: 849 accidents occurred then due to poor road conditions.
The situation in the top three regions is different. In the Lviv region, the number of such cases decreased by 31% over the year, and more than halved compared to 2021. In Kyiv, on the contrary, the number of such accidents increased by 17% compared to 2024. However, the figure is still significantly lower than before the full-scale invasion. Ternopil region also saw a 16% increase compared to 2024.
In February, analysts reported that in 2025, more than 11,000 cases of drunken driving were recorded in Odesa region, which was among the top three regions in terms of the number of offenders. Overall, the number of such protocols in Ukraine has decreased for the first time in five years.
However, almost half a million cars were imported from abroad to Ukraine in 2025: 23,382 cars were imported to Odesa region.
