Back in December 2025, blogger Alina from Odesa posted photos on her Instagram page in which her lover proposes to her, hiding his face, and journalists found out from his tattoo that he was Bohdan Vaskevych, a longtime employee of the district territorial centers for recruitment and social support in Odesa and the region.
As the journalists of Slidstvo. Info journalists, Bohdan Vaskevych has served at least eight years in various military enlistment offices in the region.
The man in the photo was identified by a distinctive tattoo on his arm, which can be seen in several of the photos published by Alina. A photo of a man with a very similar tattoo, but with an open face, is available on official Odesa websites, where as of October 2023 he is called the deputy military commissar of one of the Odesa district military commissariats and joint ventures.
Journalists have noted that Bohdan's fiancée Alina likes to take pictures in the elevator of a particular residential complex in Odesa. From the register of real rights to real estate, the journalists learned that a 145-square-meter apartment and a parking space in this premium residential complex are owned by Ihor Rozhko, Bohdan Vaskevych's uncle. Bohdan Vaskevych himself also appears in the photo of the bride in this elevator.
An extract from the State Register indicates that Vaskevych 's uncle became the owner of the apartment three years ago and paid 5.5 million hryvnias for it. However, the investigators insist that such apartments are now being sold on real estate websites for four times as much, for 20 million hryvnias. The certificate of appraisal for this apartment says it is worth almost 11 million hryvnias.
The concierges of the building, which often appears on Alina's Instagram profile, told reporters that the new owner of the apartment was renovating from scratch. On Alina's Instagram page, the journalists found several photos from the apartment, probably with this new renovation. They asked the interior designer to estimate its cost. According to her, such a renovation could cost about 237 thousand US dollars or 10 million hryvnias. That is, the cost of the apartment, including the renovation, could cost 21 million hryvnias or half a million US dollars.
As noted earlier, the owner of the property is Ihor Rozhko, Bohdan Vaskevych's uncle. According to Rozhko's public declaration, in 2016-2017, he was a history teacher in Odesa region with a small salary.
From its own sources, Slidstvo.info also received a tax certificate on Ihor Rozhko's income - from 2000 to 2018, he earned 160 thousand hryvnias. Thus, Mr. Rozhko's official income would hardly be enough to buy a premium apartment, which apparently belongs to his nephew's fiancée.
The journalists claim that they tried to talk to the Vaskevych family, but their phones were not answered for a long time. Blogger Alina also did not respond to the journalists' questions sent via messenger.
The criminal proceedings against the Vaskevychs, opened by the SBI in January 2025, were initially actively investigated, but later the pace slowed down, with the last ruling dated August last year.
The court ruling states that Arkadiy Vaskevych, a senior military officer, set up a mechanism for receiving funds for assistance in evading mobilization, after which he personally and on his instructions purchased a number of real estate and vehicles, which were subsequently registered in the names of family members and close associates. This is the version put forward by SBI investigators.
According to the case file, his son, Bohdan Vaskevych, being the deputy head of the recruitment and staffing department, intentionally entered knowingly false information in the declaration of a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local government. Investigators believe that Bohdan Vaskevych failed to include in the declaration the property he uses.
