Occupation Deputy Minister of Crimea sentenced to 10 years in prison

The occupying "Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea" was sentenced to 10 years in prison for collaboration.
As reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, the verdict was passed under the public prosecution of the autonomy's prosecutor's office. The court found him guilty under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to prosecutors, in October 2023, the convict voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities and took a senior position in the so-called Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea.
While in office, he implemented the aggressor state's policy in the field of agriculture, as well as ensured the activities of the occupation authorities.
The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. In addition, he was deprived of the right to hold positions in state and local government for a period of 10 years.
In turn, the SBU Main Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea added that comprehensive measures are currently being taken to bring the convict to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation in the case was carried out by the SBU officers in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Earlier, law enforcement officers have already brought to justice the "First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea" for a similar crime.
The former Ukrainian law enforcement officer was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison. Investigators proved that he deliberately sided with the aggressor, headed the occupation structures and was personally involved in the persecution of activists and journalists in Crimea and Kherson region.
In addition, in April, three former prosecutors from Crimea were put on trial for treason after serving the occupation authorities in Sevastopol. They had been working for the Russian "justice" system for years and actually strengthened the aggressor's control over the peninsula.
