During an extraordinary session, members of the Mykolaiv Regional Council approved the allocation of 5.5 million hryvnias to the municipal nonprofit enterprise “Maternity Hospital No. 3” and agreed to its reorganization.
The decisionwas adoptedduring the 37th extraordinary session of the regional council.
The funds will be used to pay off the debt that has accumulated at the medical facility. To this end, the deputies supported an increase in the enterprise’s authorized capital and amendments to its charter.
As noted during the discussion of the issue, financial support is necessary to settle the maternity hospital’s debt obligations and prevent further operational problems. The amount of 5.5 million hryvnias was determined based on information provided by the enterprise itself.
In addition, the regional council adopted a resolution to reorganize Maternity Hospital No. 3 by merging it with the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital.
Once the process is complete, the facility will not cease operations. The maternity hospital will continue to provide medical care as a separate structural unit of the regional hospital, maintaining its current scope of services.
The regional council emphasizes that the allocation of funds and the reorganization are intended to stabilize the facility’s financial situation, ensure its continued operation, and maintain access to medical services for residents of Mykolaiv and the region.
As a reminder, on May 29 in Mykolaiv, members of the regional council supported a decision launching the final stage of transferring Maternity Hospital No. 3 to regional ownership. Despite concerns among some council members regarding the facility’s future, authorities have assured that the medical institution will not lose its specialization and will even expand its range of services.
Later, it became known that the maternity hospital had debts amounting to millions of hryvnias, specifically for unpaid wages and medical supplies.
