Acting Head of Odesa City Military Administration Nadiia Zadorozhna has signed an order to introduce labor service and engage able-bodied persons in socially useful work under martial law in Odesa.

According to the order, able-bodied persons, including those who are not subject to military service due to age and health, but have no restrictions on working under martial law, will be engaged in socially useful work.

Exceptions will be made for those who are already involved in the defense and public welfare sectors.

Thus, employees of enterprises operating under martial law, registered unemployed and other unemployed persons, including internally displaced persons, war veterans and persons discharged from military service who are unemployed able-bodied persons, will be involved in the work.

Community service will be financed by the Fund for Compulsory State Unemployment Insurance within the limits of the funds provided for in the Fund's budget for the relevant purposes.

Employees of enterprises operating under martial law shall be paid for performing socially useful work in accordance with the remuneration conditions established for the profession (position) to which they are enrolled, and the amount of such payment may not be lower than the average salary at the main place of work.

Other able-bodied persons shall be paid for performing socially useful work in accordance with the remuneration conditions established for the profession (position) to which they are enrolled, and the amount of such payment, if the labor standard is met, may not be lower than the minimum wage.
