In the Mykolaiv region, nearly 94 percent of children will attend school in person or through a hybrid model

In the Mykolaiv region, 347 educational institutions plan to operate in-person or in a hybrid format. They will serve approximately 83,000 children, representing nearly 94% of the region’s students.

This was announced by Georgy Reshetilov, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. 

Schools that will operate in-person or in a hybrid format must have shelters ready and the necessary approvals in place. The Regional State Administration’s Department of Education and Science, together with the Regional Education Administration, will additionally verify their actual readiness.

Earlier, it was reported that 12 schools in Mykolaiv will operate entirely remotely in the new school year. The remaining schools will return to in-person or hybrid learning.

 Instructionwill take place in three formats as follows:

• 12 schools—remote learning;
• 7 schools—hybrid format;
• 45 schools—in-person learning.

If the security situation deteriorates, the format of instruction may be changed. The relevant decisions will be made by the pedagogical councils of the educational institutions.

It was previously reported that the Mykolaiv region will not receive nearly 112,000 textbooks in time for the new school year—the shipment was destroyed as a result of a missile strike on the warehouse where it was stored. 

According to commission chairmanYevhen Gorburov, the region has so far received only about 32% of the required number of textbooks. Due to the destruction of part of the print run by a missile strike on the warehouse, the region will have to wait for a new print run and a reshipment.
