In Mykolaiv, garbage collection is nearly four times more expensive than in Odesa

In Mykolaiv, the rate for the removal of one cubic meter of household waste is several times higher than in Odesa. At the same time, the rates for water supply and wastewater disposal in the city are lower than in Odesa.
This is according to a report by the Center for Public Investigations.
In Mykolaiv, the cost of disposing of 1 cubic meter of household waste is 382.69 hryvnia. In Odesa, depending on the service provider, the rate ranges from 104.61 to 110.23 hryvnia. Thus, the Mykolaiv rate is approximately 3.5–3.7 times higher than that in Odesa.
At the same time, residents of Mykolaiv pay less for water. The rate for centralized water supply is 14.61 hryvnia per cubic meter (excluding VAT), and for wastewater disposal, it is 13.76 hryvnia. These rates were set by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NKREKP).
By comparison, in Odesa, water supply costs 30.59 hryvnia, and wastewater disposal costs 24.03 hryvnia per cubic meter, excluding VAT.
Heating rates in Mykolaiv depend on the provider. One provider charges 1,873.39 hryvnia per 1 Gcal, while another charges 1,999.08 hryvnia. The monthly service fee ranges from 18.53 to 47.18 hryvnia.
The fee for managing apartment buildings in Mykolaiv depends on the specific building and the list of services. In general, it ranges from 3 to 9 hryvnias per square meter.
