In Mykolaiv, a lawsuit was filed against the owner of a historic mansion, demanding that a preservation agreement be signed

The Mykolaiv District Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit against the owner of an architectural monument of local significance— “Residential Building— Mansion. Early 20th Century,” located in the historic center of Mykolaiv. They want to compel him to enter into a conservation agreement to preserve the building.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. 

This mansion holds significant historical and architectural value for Mykolaiv. It features a unique architectural design—floral ornamentation on the facade and windows. The building was registered as a monument of local significance in March 1997. However, a preservation agreement has not yet been signed with its owner. 

Earlier, Mykolaiv authorities decided to allocate funds for the restoration of the architectural monument. The Department of Urban Development announced a procurement process for the final stage of restoring Lyceum No. 2, which was destroyed as a result of enemy shelling. The estimated cost of the work is 264.9 million, and the reconstruction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.

Plans include partial restoration of the facades, interior finishing of the premises, installation of electrical equipment, and installation of an elevator for people with disabilities.

The project also includes the complete construction ofaprotectiveshelterand the landscaping of the school’s grounds. As of March 2026, 99.3 million has already been invested in the project, and the building is 40% complete. The previous contractor, “Zhytloproombud-8,” has already completed a significant amount of work, including repairing the roof, rebuilding damaged sections of the walls, installing windows, and laying the main interior utilities.
