Head of Odesa Heat Supply resigns from his post

Valeriy Ivanov, director of the Odesa City Heat Supply utility company, has resigned from his position at his own request.

The corresponding order of the interim mayor Igor Koval was published by the press service of the city council.

Valeriy Ivanov had been in charge of the enterprise since June 2024, when the then mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, appointed him to replace Hanna Pozdnyakova, who became deputy mayor. At the time, he was the deputy director of the utility for financial and economic issues.

Ihor Koval signed the order on January 6, but it was not made public until January 19.

At the time of his appointment, Valeriy Ivanov had more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector:

  • He graduated from Odesa National Economic University with a degree in Finance and Credit.
  • He started working in the banking sector in 1999. First, as an economist at Privatbank, and then, from 2001 to 2004, at MTB Bank as Head of Documentary Operations.
  • From 2004 to 2011, he was a member of the regional management of HVB Bank in Southern Ukraine - for 7 years he held the position of Director of the HVB Bank Ukraine representative office.
  • In addition, from 2011 to 2014, he managed the Southern Regional Center for Small and Medium Enterprises of Pravex Bank, after which he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Investbank and simultaneously developed his own business.
  • In 2016, he headed the department for large corporate clients of Alfa Bank's Odesa Directorate.
  • Since 2018, he has been advising on finance, investment and operational efficiency for public and private sector companies.
  • He has been working as Deputy Director for Financial and Economic Affairs at TMC since January 2020.
