Five-year reconstruction of the waterfront in Crimea has closed access to beaches

In the temporarily occupied Koktebel, the so-called reconstruction of the embankment, which has been going on since 2021, has become a tool for restricting the rights of local residents. Due to the endless construction work, the completion date of which is constantly postponed, most of the beaches of the village remain closed to access.

According to the experts of the Association of Reintegration of Crimea, after the completion of the work, the village may be left without swimming areas at all - similar to Yevpatoria, where the occupiers officially banned people from entering the water on the recently opened waterfront.
Currently, local residents have been left with only one beach on the outskirts of the village. People are convinced that the work is deliberately not divided into stages to keep the coast closed for years. For the region, where tourism was almost the only source of income, this policy was a devastating financial blow.
Despite the fact that in December 2025, desperate residents even tried to appeal to the Kremlin, the occupation administration continues to ignore the problem. The promises of the head of Feodosia, Vladimir Kim, about working on schedule turned out to be another manipulation - the deadlines for the completion of the embankment and sewage system were officially shifted again, leaving Koktebel in a state of endless construction and social collapse.
In particular, we remind you that employees of the municipal enterprises "Uzherezhzhia" and "Miski dorogi" eliminated the unauthorized release of wastewater on the territory of the beach zone 10 of the Velykyi Fontan station in Odesa.
Despite the elimination of the discharge, the issue of identifying the persons involved in the illegal pipe diversion and bringing them to justice remains open. The lack of a proper response in this regard creates a risk of recurrence of similar violations in the future.
