On August 22, Russian forces attacked Kherson and 38 settlements in the region, resulting in 11 people being wounded.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, as he released the latest operational update for the past 24 hours.
Russian forces used aircraft, various types of drones, and artillery. Among the settlements targeted by enemy strikes were, in particular, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Darivka, Stanislav, Vysokopillia, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Komyshany, Tyahynka, Zolota Balka, and other settlements.
According to Prokudin, Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential neighborhoods. As a result of the attacks, 11 high-rise buildings and 10 private homes were damaged.
The occupiers also destroyed a gas station, a cell tower, a store, a dormitory, warehouses, and private vehicles.
Prokudin noted that Russian forces “continue to methodically destroy civilian infrastructure in Kherson.”
In particular, on the night of August 21, one of the commercial buildings in Kherson’s Central District was again struck by Russian drones. The UAV strikes caused a fire there.
The attack caused significant damage to the building: the retail spaces were completely burned out, the roof collapsed, and the glass facades and storefronts were shattered.
According to preliminary reports, no residents of Kherson were injured as a result of this attack.
As a reminder, on August 20, an enemy drone struck the Kherson Art Museum building.
Previously, the building of the Oleksiy Shovkunenko Kherson Regional Art Museum had been designated with the international“Blue Shield” protective symbol.
