Buses from three cities arrive in Odesa to replace electric vehicles

Buses sent by a number of cities to Odesa to replace trams and trolleybuses have begun to reach the city.
According to the head of the Odesa city military administration, Serhiy Lysak, 10 buses from Lviv, 10 from Kropyvnytskyi and five from Mykolaiv have already reached the city.
According to him, the administration is currently preparing an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee to launch the buses on city routes. The new buses will duplicate tram and trolleybus routes to provide transportation in the absence of electric transport. After all the buses are received, a schedule will be formed.
Earlier, Lysak said that the city expects 40 buses from various other cities, in particular, 10 buses were to be transferred from Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi communities, five from Mykolaiv and Zhytomyr, and three from Vinnytsia and Mariupol. The Bila Tserkva community also joined the support.
"After massive Russian shelling in Odesa region, there were power outages. This has created serious difficulties for public transport - about 40% of Odesa's public transport runs on electricity and cannot fully operate under such conditions," the official explained.
On the morning of December 31, the head of the Odesa City Administration, Serhiy Lysak, said that due to the lack of electricity, trams and trolleybuses in Odesa were not working. On the night of December 31, Russians attacked the residential, logistics, and energy infrastructure of Odesa region. As a result of hits in one of the residential buildings, fires broke out in apartments from the second to the sixth floors. The facade on the fifth and sixth floors was partially destroyed. Six people were injured in the attack, including three children. The facades and glazing of several multi-story residential buildings were also damaged.
