Anatoliy Korchovyi, the long-time deputy mayor of Podilsk, has died

Anatoliy Korchovyi, deputy mayor of Podil, died at the age of 66.

This was announced by the Executive Committee of the Podil City Council.

Anatoliy Korchovyi was born on June 6, 1960, in the village of Krasnosilka in Vinnytsia Oblast. From 1977 to 1980, he studied at the Vinnytsia Technical School of Meat and Dairy Industry, after which he worked at the Gotnyansky Meat Processing Plant. He later earned a degree in geography education from the Pedagogical Institute in Tiraspol.

From 1980 to 2005, Korchovyi served in the military.

He has worked in local government since 2007. Initially, he was a Category 1 specialist—an inspector in the Department of Inspection and Administrative Oversight of Sanitary Conditions and Urban Improvement at the Executive Committee of the Kotovsk City Council.

Starting in 2009, he served as deputy head of the Department of Public Utilities and Construction, and in 2013, he became head of that department.

In 2015, Korchovyi became the first deputy mayor for the activities of the council’s executive bodies. He was responsible, in particular, for organizing and overseeing the work of enterprises that provide essential services to the population.

In 2020, he was appointed deputy mayor of Podil for matters related to the council’s executive bodies. He held this position until the last days of his life.

The city council noted that Korchovyi was a professional and responsible specialist who was respected by his colleagues, enterprise employees, and city residents.

The statement also noted that Anatoliy Korchovy, together with his wife, raised two sons.

The cause of death was a serious illness.

The Executive Committee of the Podil City Council and the community expressed their condolences to the deceased’s mother, wife, sons, relatives, loved ones, and friends.
