Almost 39 km of water supply networks are being reconstructed in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, work continues on a large-scale project to modernize the water supply system in the Korabelnyi district. It is being implemented with the support of the Danish government.
This was announced by Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
According to him, the "Unrevenue Water" project involves the reconstruction of almost 39 kilometers of water supply networks in Mykolaiv. As part of the work, it is planned to replace worn-out sections of pipes, install new wells, chambers, and fire hydrants.
In addition, a pilot system for automatic water leakage detection will be set up in Mykolaiv's Korabelnyi district. It will help to detect accidents faster and reduce water losses in the networks.
The work is being carried out in several stages. The international company Per Aarsleff is reconstructing part of the networks, while the other part is being reconstructed by a consortium of Ukrainian companies Vic Technologies and KSM Group. At some sites in Mykolaiv, construction work is already underway, while at others, design solutions are being finalized and undergoing expert reviews.
As Senkevych reminded, in April 2024, the Mykolaiv City Council signed a grant agreement with the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO). The total amount of grant support provided by the Danish government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark is about EUR 12.8 million.
According to the mayor, this is an important investment in the modernization of critical infrastructure and reliable water supply for Mykolaiv residents.
As Intent wrote earlier, the quality of tap water in Mykolaiv almost meets the standards: deviations from drinking water standards were recorded for only one indicator. Experts continue to monitor the situation, noting that the water in the city's networks meets all other criteria.
Earlier, Mykolaiv city authorities planned to extend the reimbursement program for the repair of in-building networks until 2026. They decided to allocate over UAH 116 million for this purpose.
In addition, the city council decided to update the Program for reimbursement of costs for the restoration of intra-building water supply, sewage and heat supply networks for co-owners of apartment buildings. The program, which was in effect for 2023-2025, is to be extended in 2026.
