Mykolaiv will soon have a new trolleybus route No. 14 from Mykolaiv-Vantazhny to Kazarskogo Street.
According to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych, the relevantdecision has already been approved at a meeting of the executive committee of the city council.
The route will pass through several key transport arteries of the city and should improve communication between individual districts.
According to the approved scheme, trolleybuses will run along the following route: Pryvokzalna Square - Arkasivska Street - Tsentralnyi Avenue - Khersonske Highway - Kruhova Street - Troitska Street - Elektronna Street - O. Yanata Street - Kazarskoho Street.
The route has already been tested before the launch. In early March, experts conducted a test ride to determine the optimal stops and work out the traffic logistics.
In turn, Mykolaivelectrotrans notes that the launch will take place in the near future, but the exact start date has not yet been announced.
The new route is expected to make it easier for residents to get to the station and connect important parts of the city with a direct connection.
As previously reported by Intent, on March 12, starting at 9:00 a.m., tram No. 11 will be temporarily suspended in Mykolaiv in both directions. The restriction is due to the repair work to be carried out by Mykolaiv CHP.
In addition, Mykolaiv will receive 40 tramcars from the Swedish city of Gothenburg. These are M29 trams, which were previously used in the Swedish urban transportation system.
As a reminder, in December 2025, tram service was resumed in Mykolaiv on the route No. 3 ChSZ - 10th Military. Electric vehicles are running again according to their usual schedule.
Earlier in September, tram traffic in Mykolaiv was stopped for more than 400 minutes due to improperly parked cars blocking the tracks. The utility company emphasizes that irresponsible parking creates significant inconvenience to passengers and urges vehicle drivers to be careful not to block public transport.
The company reminded about the fines for the downtime of electric vehicles due to violation of parking rules:
UAH 1692 - for a tram idle time;
UAH 1794 for a trolleybus idling.
Earlier, we reported on a case where a driver was fined over six thousand hryvnias for insufficiently tight parking, which blocked tram traffic in the center of Mykolaiv.
In particular, the city has initiated the reconstruction of the outdated rail and sleeper system. The project covers the renovation of almost 70 kilometers of tram tracks.
