A doctor from Kherson who was killed in a Russian attack was posthumously awarded the Order "For Merit," Third Class

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posthumously awarded the Order "For Merit," Third Class, to Serhiy Dmitriev, a doctor at the Kherson Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital. The infectious disease specialist died on July 2 of this year at his workplace as a result of a targeted Russian strike on the hospital.

This was announced by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Serhiy Dmitriev is known to have dedicated more than 20 years to medicine. After the liberation of Kherson, he was one of the first to return to work and remained in the frontline city.

On the eve of Medical Workers’ Day, other specialists also received awards. The honorary title of “Honored Doctor of Ukraine” was awarded to Yuriy Drobotenko, a surgeon at the Kherson City Dental Clinic, and to Petro Fostyk, head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the Luchansky Kherson City Hospital. Serhiy Tsyrya, an anesthesiologist at the Kherson Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, received the title of “Honored Healthcare Worker of Ukraine.”

Earlier,Kherson-based director Dmytro Moiseev emerged as oneof the leading contenders for the 10th anniversary “Golden Spinning Top” National Film Award. His feature film *Gray Bees*, based on the novel of thesame name by Andriy Kurkov, was nominated in 11 categories and won the award for Best Makeup.
