In the Mykolaiv region, the prosecutor’s office returned nearly 34 hectares of land in the “Buzky Gard” National Nature Park to state ownership. The illegal registration of communal property by the Oleksandrivka Village Council was revoked.

This is stated in a ruling by the Mykolaiv Regional Commercial Court.

Representatives of the Oleksandrivka Village Council fully acknowledged the claims in court, noting that they had previously been unaware that the plot belonged to the nature reserve fund.

During the proceedings, it was established that in 2018, the State Geocadastre transferred a number of plots to the communal ownership of the Oleksandrivka Village Council, one of which, after being subdivided in 2021, had an area of 39.6 hectares. The case materials indicate that, according to experts, 33.9 hectares of this land actually overlapped with the protected areas of the “Buzky Gard” National Park, which is of national significance. This was confirmed by a letter from the park, a letter from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and a topographic survey conducted during the investigation by a certified land surveyor.

Law enforcement officials determined that the transfer of the land to municipal ownership took place without the required approval from the relevant ministry and without a change in its designated use.

The “Buzky Gard” National Nature Park was established in 2009 to preserve unique natural and historical-cultural complexes in the Southern Bug River valley. The park’s lands are part of Ukraine’s nature reserve fund of national significance and are under special state protection. The “Buzky Gard” National Nature Park is one of the winners of the nationwide campaign “7 Natural Wonders of Ukraine.”
