In the Voznesensk District, 52 citizens declared 55 firearms and more than 6,038 rounds of ammunition. These included, in particular, 32 automatic rifles, six rifles, two pistols, and 15 shotguns.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region.
In total, as of July 9, 441 firearms and over 64,700 rounds of ammunition had been declared in the region. These included 293 assault rifles, 29 carbines, 31 pistols, 87 smoothbore firearms, and one combination shotgun.
The firearms and ammunition were declared under a simplified procedure in effect during martial law in Ukraine. This procedure allows individuals to legally possess firearms and avoid criminal liability for their illegal possession.
To declare found or acquired weapons, you must contact the nearest police station, a community police officer, or report the find by calling the special hotline at 102. If desired, weapons can also be voluntarily surrendered to the police.
To complete the declaration procedure, you must submit a written application, your Ukrainian passport, your taxpayer identification number, a certificate of residence (registration), and a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photograph. Specialists then review the application, inspect the weapon, and enter the information into the relevant records. After the procedure, the citizen is issued a document confirming the declaration.
In 2026, the Mykolaiv region topped the list of regions with the highest number of lost and stolen firearms. More than 169,000 firearms are currently listed as missing. Meanwhile, over 34,000 such cases were recorded in the Kherson region, and nearly 27,500 in the Odesa region.
